TradeMatch Privacy Policy

TradeMatch collects the personal information needed to connect clients with verified tradesmen and to operate a safe marketplace.

Information we collect

• Account details such as name, email address, phone number, role, and password credentials.
• Tradesman profile details such as business name, trade type, service area, public contact preferences, ratings, and previous project information.
• Client job details such as job descriptions, locations, status updates, reviews, and messages submitted through the app.
• Device location when you choose to use nearby search or set a service area. Location access is used only for those app features.
• Photos, images, and other media that tradesmen upload for logos or previous project portfolios.
• Technical information required to secure and operate the service, including authentication events, audit records, device/browser metadata, and error logs.

How we use information

We use personal information to create and secure accounts, verify email ownership, show relevant tradesman search results, manage job requests, support moderation, notify users about account activity, process account deletion requests, and meet legal and operational obligations.

POPIA consent and lawful processing

By creating an account, you acknowledge that TradeMatch may process your personal information for the purposes described in this policy. Tradesmen can separately control whether public profile contact details are visible.

Sharing

We only share information where needed to provide the service, such as showing approved tradesman profiles to clients, revealing client contact details to a tradesman after a job is accepted, sending email via our email provider, storing uploaded media, or complying with lawful requests.

Storage and security

Passwords are hashed. Sensitive operational events are audited. Uploaded media and account data are stored with access controls appropriate for the service. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but TradeMatch applies reasonable safeguards.

Account deletion and retention

You can delete your account from inside the app. When you do, TradeMatch anonymizes direct account details, disables future sign-in, removes public profile media records, and hides public tradesman contact details. Marketplace history, reviews, audit records, and records needed for safety, disputes, fraud prevention, or legal compliance may be retained without your direct contact details where feasible.

User choices

You can update profile information in the app, choose whether tradesman public contact details are visible, delete your account in the app, and request data assistance by contacting TradeMatch support.
